while anxiously awaiting mother nature's wrath
I've spent a little time knitting.
Yes, a LITTLE.
Precious little.
As in swatching for the ballet pullover.
We all must have our priorities, and while I'd love to spend all my free moments knitting, it just can't be done. The PBS must come first - deadline and all of that.
I've been making fairly good progress. I needed to unravel the end of the first ball because I ran out of beads for the last couple of bead rows.

But, alas, the lure of the Napa has been too strong for little ole me.
Hence, I bring you the swatch.
And so I must quote in my best Rob Reiner imitating Cary Grant voice...
"Hello, Diane, take a look at these swatches!"

and another shot just for fun because the color appears different in various lighting...

If all goes according to plan (tempting fate here are we?) I'll actually manage to get a bit of free time to start the sweater.
I have a feeling I'll squeeze it in at some point - sweater disease is difficult to overcome!

you feel like i feel waiting for this storm, you've been knitting, i've been beading :-)
The PBS is coming along beautifully! I think it's about time I dug mine out. I'm quite hopeful the weather will accommodate us and be more autumnal soon. Not that I don't enjoy the warm weather, but... *fingers crossed*
And the ballet pullover yarn looks delightful! How are you finding it to knit with? It looks lovely and soft.
You've been making nice progress on your PBS-it looks beautiful! I've begun working on mine a little at a time and I'm surprised at how much I get done when only picking it up here and there. Maybe I WILL get it done in time for cooler weather. *crosses fingers* :)
The Napa is gorgeous. You may have mentioned before (and I've obviously forgotten), but what is the fiber content? I hope you manage to make some progress on your sweater this weekend! Stay safe!
pcdebb - anything to keep busy, right?
Axe - I'm very certian you'll have the fall weather before I do! Perhaps we can make it arrive faster if we keep up with the cooler weather knits. :D
It's knitting up easily - the sweater calls for two strands held together as you knit. Since I haven't been working on much other than the PBS recently I'm a little out of practice in keeping my stitches uniform. I'm sure it'll be fine by the time I actually start the sweater.
Jen - thank you! I'm under pressure now to get that scarf done for next month! Whatever happened to my 'having so much time' until October!?! :P
I can't remember if I mentioned the fiber content before so...
*checks label*
It's 85% acrylic and 15% rayon. It isn't fluffy, but it feels...smooth-ish...for lack of a better description. It's almost like a tape yarn, but it's a smaller tape that I've seen before. It has a bit of a shiny wrapping the length of the yarn which is more concentrated in some areas - it adds some sheen randomly throughout as you knit it up.
And for those of you wondering how I like it so far - it's definitely looking to be a faster knit (woo! I like results) and it feels nice in the hands too. :D
That swatch is lovely - the fabric looks soft and as though it will have a lovely drape. I like the little shiny accents in it too.
Have I told you that I LOVE the colour of your PBS? It is so beautiful. I must get mine out soon. Now that both you and Jen are cracking on with yours I'm beginning to feel a little guilty :/
Your PBS is coming along beautifully. I love that color. I can't wait to see your sweater in the Napa.
**Hope you're safe through the storm.
